G ENDO GOLD- A nickel titanium rotary file is an engine-driven tapered and pointed endodontic instrument.

It is made of nickel titanium alloy with cutting edges.

It used to mechanically shape and prepare the root canals during endodontic therapy also to remove the root canal obturating material while performing retreatment.

G ENDO GOLD- The purpose of a nickel titanium rotary file is to mechanically shape and prepare the root canals during endodontic therapy or to remove the root canal obturating material during retreatment. It is an engine-driven endodontic instrument that is pointed and tapered with cutting edges made of nickel titanium alloy.

The tip size, taper, flutes, helix angle, and measurement stop are the five essential features of a nickel titanium rotary file. In some designs, additional elements like redial lands and measurement lines can be included.

Tip size: The diameter of a file’s tip, measured in 100ths of a millimetre, is referred to as the tip size. In some systems, the names of the instruments are determined by the numbers assigned to the various tip sizes. The sizes are between 10 and 100.The steady rise in diameter along a file’s working surface is referred to as the taper. The ISO taper of endodontic files, taper 0.02 mm/mm, represents a 20 micron increase in diameter for every 1 mm gain in file length; nickel titanium rotary files typically have a larger taper than conventional traditional hand files. Their taper typically falls between 0.02 and 0.12 mm/mm. A system’s taper, which may be constant or variable, can be used to categorise various systems.
The grooves on the working side of files are called flutes, and they can be made by either twisting or grinding a wire. Flutes offer cutting edges as well as area for collecting wasteThey transform a wire into a shaping tool that both cuts the tooth structure and functions as an auger as a result of their presence. The behaviour of a file is significantly influenced by the depth, width, quantity, organisation, and orientation of the flutes.
Helix angle – The helix angle is the angle formed by a file’s long access and cutting edge. Debris collection and rotational direction are both significantly influenced by helix angle. A constant or increasing helix angle is possible (changes along the length of a file). Accelerating helix angles can reduce the torsion stress on a file by reducing the screw that is present when the majority of a file’s working surface is engaged.
