Unlike EDTA coated tubes, the Gel Plus Clot Activator Tubes are so designed that it aids in the blood clotting process. A specially coating is done on the internal wall of the tube. The coating contains microscopic silica particles that increases the blood clotting process. They also has an inert separator gel on its base. Once the process is over, the gel forms an inert barrier that separates the serum from the blood clot.
