We provide complete treatment for various types of paediatric cardiac issues including these common cardiac disorders in children:
Aortic Co-arctation – This condition is caused by the narrowing of the aorta. The condition can be treated by removing the narrowed parts or with the insertion of a stent into the narrowed vessel.
Aortic Valve Stenosis – Aortic valve stenosis occurs when the heart’s aortic valve narrows. This narrowing prevents the valve from opening fully, which reduces or blocks blood flow from the heart to your body through the aorta and to the rest of the body. One may need surgery to repair or replace the valve. Left untreated, Aortic Valve Stenosis can lead to serious heart problems.
Arrhythmia – Arrhythmia refers to irregular heart rhythm. Treatment options for arrhythmia include medications, pacemaker implantation, catheter ablation, or removal of the tissue causing the condition.
Endocarditis – Endocarditis refers to the infection of the heart which can be treated with medicine. Surgery can be an option but not the preferred one.
Cardiomyopathy – Cardiomyopathy is a condition when heart muscles become hard and cannot pump blood to the rest of the body. Cardiomyopathy can lead to heart failure. The main types of cardiomyopathy include dilated hypertrophic and restrictive cardiomyopathy.
Pulmonary Artery Stenosis – The heart vessel, pulmonary artery, that carries blood from the heart to the lungs narrows down obstructing the blood flow. This condition can be treated with the help of an angioplasty. Surgical treatment options are opted for in case of failure of non-surgical options.
Congenital Heart Defects – Congenital heart defects can vary from simple to life-threatening conditions. The warning signs and symptoms are: Low birth weight, Chest pain, Delayed growth, Bluish lips, fingers, and skin, Difficulty in feeding.
