However, there are several subcategories of gauze items that vary in terms of the fabric’s design or the materials used to make them. The two main categories are classified as either I woven or (ii) non-woven. Practitioners must distinguish between these divisions because each group’s performance and product qualities will vary.
Larger wounds are covered with gauze dressings, which are thick cotton pads. They are wrapped in a gauze strip or fastened in place with tape (bandage). To prevent the growth of bacteria, dressings must be sterile and absorbent. Unless a lesion requires frequent cleaning, dressings should be left in place until the wound heals.

Gauze is a kind of thin, open-weave medical fabric that is used in the treatment of wounds. Gauze sponges and pads are both made entirely of cotton. Due to their longer strands, they are stronger than other forms of dressings and wick vertically to remove exudates from wounds. We provide both sterile and non-sterile versions of our gauze. It is advised to only use sterile gauze on open wounds.

Gauze pads and gauze sponges are excellent for general cleaning, dressings, preparing, packing, and debriding wounds. They are utilised in a variety of applications. It can also be applied to wounds as a short-term absorbent dressing. To cushion or pack a wound and aid in tissue healing, you should use gauze.
